Assistant Professor

tinaMy research examines the cultural and environmental history of the modern North American Arctic.  I am particularly interested in how southern Canadians and Americans perceived and represented the North, and how they interacted with norther people and environments.  I am completing a book manuscript on modern cultures of northern exploration and travel, and have begun a new project on the working identities and cultures of fur trapping, as practiced by economic migrants to the North in the early twentieth century.

Offered Courses:

HTY398 Furs, Frontiers, and Fame:  North American Exploration

CAN101:  Introduction to Canadian Studies
