News - Three History Department Graduates Receive Teaching Appointments

August 2009

Three recent graduates of the PhD program have received teaching appointments starting in the Fall of 2009. Shannon Risk (PhD, 2009) is now Assistant Professor of History at Niagra University in Niagra Falls, New York, where she will teach courses on women’s history, public history and modern U.S. history.  Joy Giguere (PhD, 2009) is now Assistant Professor of History at Ivy Tech Community College in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she will teach introductory level courses on pre-Civil War U.S. and post-Civil War U.S.history; Dr. Giguere also plans to develop upper-level courses in the future on material culture and medical history. Abigail Chandler (PhD, 2008) is now Visiting Assistant Professor of History at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, where she will teach courses in early American history.
