UMaine Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Training Offered in Oxford County

Master Gardener Volunteers in Oxford County; photo by Edwin RemsbergEnrollment is now open for the University of Maine Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Volunteer training in Oxford county. This multi-session course will feature in-depth training in the art and science of horticulture. Trainings will be held in two locations: UMaine Extension Oxford County office in South Paris, starting January 30, 2014, Thursdays, 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM; and Mexico Region 9 Technical School, start date TBA, Wednesdays, 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM. Trainees receive current, research-based information from UMaine Extension educators and industry experts. In return, trained Master Gardeners volunteer their time and expertise in many ways for community programs and activities.

Applications should be submitted no later than January 15th. The course fee is on a sliding scale from $110-$330. A limited number of scholarships are available. UMaine Extension programs are open and accessible to all in accordance with program goals.
