French after-school program for K-5

Franco American Programs runs an after-school French program for children in grades K-5.  It is designed for those with no exposure to French and for those with some experience in the language.  Our aim is to make learning French fun in a safe, after-school environment.  We also seek to connect French language learners with heritage language speakers in our area.

The classes are organized by ability, and students are taught by French and Education college students.

We hold classes on Mondays and Wednesdays from afterschool until 5pm.

Our first spring session will run from January 23 to March 3. The theme for this session will be “Foods and Manners” (La Nourriture et les Bonnes Manières).

Our second spring session will run from March 20 to April 28The theme for this session will be “Songs, Stories, and Games” (Chansons, Contes et Jeux).

We are using the curriculum from the Maine French Language Heritage Program.

Cost is $50 for each six-week program.
