Maine Garden to Lunchroom - Harvesting Garden Produce

Step 4:

Harvesting Garden Produce

Choose appropriate utensils and food-grade safe containers for harvesting garden produce. Wash utensils designated for harvesting produce with warm soapy water before and after use. Remember personal hygiene: wash hands before and after harvesting. While harvesting, remove some of the dirt from the produce by hand or with a brush before bringing the produce into the kitchen or processing area. Wash produce before consuming it.
