The folksong-collecting work of Sandy Ives in Prince Edward Island is highlighted in a special exhibit prepared for the Forbes House in Tyne Valley, PEI. This focusses on the life and songs of Larry Gorman, who was born in Tyne Valley in 1846 and died in Brewer, Maine, in 1917. Gorman is the subject of Ives’ first book, Larry Gorman: The Man Who Made the Songs.
This 22-panel exhibition is featured on the Maine Folklife Centre website with the kind permission of the PEI Folklore Preservation Society, Tyne Valley.
