Kenneth Merrill, Storyteller
Kenneth Merrill was a logger and dowser, a skill he discovered when a child. Merrill lived and worked in the Lincoln, Maine area his whole life – born in Kossuth Plantation, grew up and lived mostly in Carroll, and retired to Lincoln in the early 1970s. He started dowsing as a young boy, around the age of eleven or twelve, and continued to dowse for himself and friends throughout his adult life until about seven years prior to this interview. He worked mostly as a logger, but had to retire from the woods – at least the heavy work – in the mid-1960s after he suffered a serious injury.
