Faculty Stipends

The Faculty Development Center is pleased to offer the 14th annual Faculty Technology Stipends for the 2014/2015 academic year. These stipends are designed to reward the extra time and effort required for faculty to develop technology-based solutions for their courses, and/or revamp their online course incorporating current and best practices in instructional design. A total of 10 $1500 awards will be made in the following two areas:

1. Technology integration into live/online courses;

2. Innovative student engagement practices in class and online;

Proposals will be considered for projects that are designed to produce significant improvements in undergraduate and graduate learning processes with a focus on new technology. This year, we are particularly interested in proposals that predict a significant increase with student engagement and participation, both in class and online.

These stipends are intended to promote pedagogical excellence in the University of Maine’s curricula by fostering creativity and promoting experimentation through new uses of instructional technology.

Instructional design resources and technical consultation services will be provided by the Faculty Development Center located in 149 Memorial Union.
