Title
Senior Companion Program Advisory Committee Volunteer
Location
The Advisory Committee meets monthly at their county UMaine Extension office.
Objective
As an advisory committee member you will serve on the “board” of the Senior Companion Program. Members attend monthly meetings with UMaine Extension staff, provide guidance and direction on the program, and plan fund-raising and outreach events. Leadership positions are available.
Qualifications
Membership is open to anyone interested in elder care and support.
Ideal candidates will be motivated and possess strong leadership skills.
Responsibilities
Volunteers meet quarterly and participate in event planning, training, outreach and program fundraising.
Time Commitment
Attend all meetings; additional volunteer work can be taken on or is assigned on a volunteer basis
Training/Support
Volunteers can attend a monthly meeting prior to joining the Advisory Committee. Leadership positions are available. The meetings serve as a formal check in and support for volunteers and staff, and a chance for volunteers to develop a professional relationship with other committee members.
