Hi, I am Erin Straine, Coordinator of Academic Advising and Student Services at the College of Education and Human Development. Prior to coming to the Advising Center I taught 6th grade science in South Carolina and then moved to Maine to obtain my master’s degree in Higher Education at UMaine. I am originally from Ohio where I completed my undergraduate degree in education at Ohio University. I consider Maine to be my new home and have loved living in this beautiful state. I love traveling, the outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.
Greetings! My name is C.J. and I am one of your Academic Advisors for this year. I am happy to assist you in any way that I can. Maine is my home and I am glad to be back after several years away. I received my Bachelor’s in Music Education from Florida State University in 2007 and then spent the next four years as an officer in the Marine Corps. I came to UMaine in January 2012 shortly after leaving active duty and am working towards a M.Ed. in School Counseling. I enjoy spending time with my growing family, music (classical, jazz, oldies), and outdoor activities -hiking, hunting, and fishing.
Welcome to the Advising Center. My name is Cassandra Robinson and I am an Academic Advisor here in the College of Education. My job is to help you through your first years here at the University.
I graduated from UMaine in 2012 with my degree in elementary education. I am now a graduate student, pursuing a degree in special education. I was born and raised in Maine and I plan to continue living and teaching in Maine when I’m done with my graduate degree. My dream is to teach in an elementary school in a special education classroom or in grades 2-4.
In my spare time I love spend time with friends and to dance. This year marks my 15th year of dance. As a grad student I will continue to be apart of the Dance and Tap Club here on campus. I am also a member of Kappa Delta Pi, the Educational Honor Society here at UMaine. During the year I spend time volunteering for Camp Sunshine, a camp for children with life threatening illnesses.
