The John A. Lindlof Learning Center serves area schools and communities by providing educational assessment, consultation, counseling, demonstration and training services to children and families. The majority of children are referred by their school counselors. Located on the second floor of Shibles Hall and staffed by College of Education and Human Development faculty, the Center offers a modern, clinical setting for helping children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families cope with issues including learning, emotional, and adjustment difficulties. Simultaneously, through providing the intensively supervised clinical services, the Center offers professional, competent training for graduate students.

The Learning Center is a memorial to the late Professor Lindlof, a long-time College faculty member who was widely recognized for his innovation and leadership as an educator and for his dedication to students.
