Dr. Dan Tillapaugh comes to us most recently from the University of San Diego where he completed his Ph.D. in Leadership Studies, with a specialization in Higher Education Leadership. While at USD, he was an instructor in the undergraduate leadership studies minor and an adjunct instructor in the Master’s in Higher Education Leadership program. Prior to teaching at USD, he was the assistant dean of student affairs at Sixth College, an undergraduate college at the University of California, San Diego. He graduated with his Master’s of Education from the University of Maryland’s College Student Personnel program and earned his Bachelor’s of Music from Ithaca College.
Dan has over ten years of experience as a student affairs administration in residential life, student activities, student leadership development, and orientation. His research interests are in the meaning making of college students, issues of gender identity and sexual orientation in higher education, college student leadership development, and the study of college men and masculinities. Currently, he is the Chair of the Standing Committee on Men and Masculinities for ACPA – College Student Educators International.
