The ATS must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 and complete each Athletic Training course with a minimum of a B – . The student must complete the minimal number of supervised hours for each Clinical Skills course. Also, all skills proficiencies for each clinical education course must be completed prior to moving to the next course. Failure to do so will result in the student’s inability to enroll in the next sequential course until the ATS is approved by the Program Director. All outstanding work must be completed before the Program Director will endorse the ATSs BOC candidacy application.
ATS progress is monitored by the Athletic Training Education Program Director at least twice per academic semester. This includes the following:
- a mid-semester Academic Progress Report for classroom and clinical courses
- a Mid-semester ATS Clinical Experience Evaluation
- and a mid-semester review of supervised hours.
The student’s academic and clinical education records are revisited at the end of each academic semester. The ATS is then advised to continue the sequence of ATR courses or to repeat a course if appropriate.
