Estimated Costs to Train a Literacy Coach

Initial Internship Year

Technical Services
Includes: Seven internship weeks at the University of Maine, two site visits by MPCL faculty, consultation with school, and leadership team retreat
Tuition (subject to change)
Includes: Tuition for nine-credit graduate course, EEL 650 – Maine Partnership in Comprehensive Literacy Coach Internship
Non-degree fee
If the LC intern is not an enrolled student at the University, there is a non-degree fee
Includes: textbooks and internship modules
Classroom Books/Materials
Includes books and materials for the literacy coach’s classroom during the internship year
Expenses during internship weeks at the University
Lodging, meals and travel
Plus the local school budget salary of the Literacy Coach
Yearly Expenses after the Internship Year
Continuing Professional Development
Includes: Professional development days at the University of Maine and expenses for site visits by University Trainer
Expenses for Conferences
Literacy Coaches are required to attend one literacy conference a year
Total $2,200.00
