Scholarships
The Ecology and Environmental Sciences Program awards two scholarships annually: the John F. Boyle Environmental Prize and the Wallace C. and Janet S. Dunham Ecology and Environmental Sciences Program Scholarship. The John F. Boyle Environmental Prize was endowed by the generous gifts from the family of John F. Boyle and gifts from faculty and graduates from the program. The scholarship recognizes the top graduating Senior in the EES Program. The Wallace C. and Janet S. Dunham Ecology and Environmental Sciences Program Scholarship will be awarded to incoming students “…who demonstrate academic excellence. Preference shall be given to students who are graduates of New Jersey or Vermont high schools, because Wallace is a native of New Jersey and Janet is a native of Vermont.”
In addition, students in the EES program are eligible for hundreds of thousands of dollars in both need-based and merit scholarships offered annually by the College of Natural Sciences, Forestry, and Agriculture. Students wishing apply for these awards should complete the college scholarship application by March 1 of each academic year.
Those wishing to contribute to either scholarship endowment should contact the University of Maine Foundation.
