Links - Economic Development Partnerships
Office of Innovation and Economic Development partners with economic development organizations throughout Maine to support the growth of the state’s economy. Our partnerships are an important component of our strategy to create new jobs and companies through research and development.
Some of our partners include:
Bangor Region Development Alliance – UMaine is a member of this organization that attracts companies to locate in the Greater Bangor region. UMaine helps recruit businesses that would benefit from being located near a research center and a large source of potential employees.
Coastal Acadia Development Corporation – UMaine is a partner in this organization that is dedicated to business growth and retention in Hancock County.
Maine Technology Institute – This state-funded organization provides grants to companies commercializing new technologies. More than 50% of the companies receiving grants have partnered with UMaine.

Millinocket Area Growth & Investment Council – UMaine is a partner in this organization’s efforts to develop a business incubator in the Business Resource Innovation Center.
