Educational Programs - Master Gardener Application Cumberland County

Thank you for your interest in the Master Gardener program in Cumberland County.  The Master Gardener Application deadline was  December 27, 2013.   Applicants will be notified of the selection decision by Wednesday, January 15, 2014.  This training is designed for residents of Cumberland County and participants are selected through an application process.  If you reside in another county, we can connect you with the appropriate program.

The course fee is based on a sliding scale.  Please refer to the link below for information about the fee structure.   Do not send payment with your applicationScholarships and payment arrangements will be made available to those in need.

The Master Gardener Training is a basic horticulture course comprised of approximately 50 hours of classroom, field, and hands-on learning, with an on-line manual serving as a resource.  In 2014, the training takes place over 16 consecutive Friday afternoons (12:30 PM to 4:00 PM), two late afternoon/early evening sessions, and one Saturday morning, from January 31 through May 16 at the University of Maine Regional Learning Center, 75 Clearwater Drive, Falmouth.  The focus is on small fruits and vegetables and touches on sustainable landscaping.
