The public is invited the 2013 Annual Meeting of the Cumberland County Extension Association to be held on Wednesday, September 18th starting at 6:00 PM at the University of Maine Cooperative Extension office at the UMaine Regional Learning Center in Falmouth. The theme for this year’s meeting is “100 years of 4-H”
John Rebar, Executive Director of UMaine Extension Statewide will give the keynote address “4-H celebrating its 100th year in Maine”.
John will be followed by 4-hers speaking about their generation’s 4-H experience: Connie Wood, Julie Martin, Jen Grant, Troy & Kathleen Pride, Allison Moon and Reed Bridge-Koenigsberg.
Cumberland County Commissioner, Jim Cloutier will say a few words on the successful partnership of UMaine Extension and Cumberland County.
We will honor specific UMaine Extension Master Gardener, Master Food Preserver, 4-H, Eat Well and Homemaker volunteers at this event. This year we will honor Marge Steele with the Friend of Extension Award in honor of her late husband Norm Steele. Norm was an integral part of our extension family.
Prior to the meeting we will have a light meal. As we do every year, we will enjoy a very unique dessert – the results of the Pie Bake-Off complete with prizes furnished by King Arthur Flour! Do you have a favorite pie recipe? We invite you to enter the bake-off and share your scrumptious dessert! All recipes will become part of our UMaine Extension Cookbook. Thank you!
Whether you choose to enter the pie bake-off or not, we look forward to seeing you there!
