We will meet at the trailhead to the park, located on Summit Street

Join Jeff Tarling, Portland’s City Arborist, as he leads us on a tree identification tour through the park and down to the Presumpscot River Preserve. Oatnuts Park is the gateway to the Presumpscot River Preserve and part of the Forest City Trail, which runs from the Stroudwater Trail to the Presumpscot River and Presumpscot Falls.

Location & Directions: The trail begins at Summit Street (off Allen Avenue) between Olde Birch Lane and Juniper Street. Parking is available on Summit Street. We will meet at the trailhead.

From Falmouth, take Allen Avenue Extension towards Portland. Turn right onto Summit Street (located before you get to the intersection with Washington Avenue/Route 26), go approx. 4/10 of a mile and the trailhead will be on the right.

From Portland, take Washington Avenue/Route 26 towards Falmouth. Turn right at the intersection with Allen Avenue. Turn left onto Summit Street (located after the shopping plazas), go approx. 4/10 of a mile and the trailhead will be on the right.
