Learn about Eating Well

Another successful seeds and seedling distribution event was held at Portland Housing Authority sites during May of 2012.  Amy Witt, University of Maine Cooperative Extension’s Horticulture Professional, organized this event with assistance from Master Gardeners Volunteers and our EatWell Nutrition Associates: Brenda Bracy, Rae Belanger, Teddi Reed and Diane Qualey.

The Eat Well Nutrition Program is about learning to make healthy eating choices.  It is free, fun and confidential for individuals or groups. You will learn to stretch food dollars, and improve your cooking skills by preparing low cost, healthy meals and snacks.

Nutrition Associates are available to meet with income eligible participants.  To speak with an EatWell Nutrition Associate about healthier eating, call the University of Maine  Cooperative Extension in Cumberland County at 207-781-6099.
