UMaine Extension in Falmouth Announces Summer Canning Workshops

Workshop leaders:  Kate McCarty, Food Preservation Program Aide and/or Master Food Preserver Volunteers from UMaine Extension will teach Hot Water Bath Canning method and Freezing at our  “Preserving the Harvest” programs.

Each workshop will cover the follow food preservation basics:

  • Recommended preservation methods
  • The latest and safest recipes
  • Equipment to ensure safety
  • Checking for properly sealed jars

Location:  UMaine Regional Learning Center, 75 Clearwater Dr., Suite 104, Falmouth

Time: 5:30 – 8:30 PM

Cost: $10 per person per workshop. (scholarships are available)
