Meet the Staff - Laurie Page
I grew up in Minneapolis and I’m currently in my last year of training before receiving my doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Brigham Young University. My husband is also in the same graduate program as me and we have an adorable toddler daughter who keeps us busy and entertained. In my spare time I enjoy running, baking, and singing. I also love watching good comedy and learning new things. I was attracted to this profession because I believe that each person’s experience is meaningful and valuable. And the more people I come to know, the more I am impressed by the resiliency of others (and myself).
What has been your most embarrassing moment (either at work or play)?
I once wrote a long and very personal email to an ex-boyfriend who had broken up with me a few years earlier. I discussed our relationship and my thoughts and feelings about him over the years. I was nervous about sending it and I read it over several times to make sure it was just right. Unfortunately I accidently sent the email to his father who has the same initials. (I’m still not sure why I had his father’s email address in my contact list). I was pretty embarrassed when I realized this because his father has a very formal demeanor and I’d only ever spoken to him briefly in passing because he intimidated me. Thankfully he forwarded the email on to his son, but I still wonder if he read the whole sappy thing.
What is your favorite comfort food?
If you could take a trip anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Honestly, I love taking trips just about anywhere even if it’s just a little road trip to a nearby town. But one of my bucket list places to visit is Phuket, Thailand.
