Meet the Staff - Beth Rote
Tell us a little bit about yourself
I grew up in Brunswick and attended Brunswick schools. I graduated from the University of New Hampshire after attending the University of Maine at Farmington for one year. After marrying my husband, who is in the Army, we moved many, many, many times: Germany, Virginia, Washington State, Louisiana, England, Germany (again), and Florida. We were extremely blessed when the Army offered him a position that allowed us to go home after being away 20 years. We have two children who attend Veazie and Orono schools.
What has been your most embarrassing moment?
After a heated argument I stormed out of my future husband’s home in a huff only to find my car was stuck in the mud and wouldn’t budge. I refused to go in and ask for help so I sat on the porch steps for an hour until he came outside laughing; he had witnessed the entire thing and thought it was hilarious. Now every time we have an argument (which isn’t too often) he brings up this incident.
What is your favorite comfort food?
Pizza
If you could take a trip anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I would love to go back to Ireland. We were able to take an 8 day vacation there when we lived in England and it was beautiful! It was a little cold in March so I would love to go during the warmer months.
