Lecture in Chemistry (fixed length)
The Department of Chemistry at the University of Maine invites applications for a full-time, one academic-year (non-renewable) fixed-length term appointmnent as Lecturer in Chemistry effective September 1, 2014. The primary responsibilities are teaching courses in the general chemistry and/or sophomore organic programs. In addition, the successful candidate will have responsibilities in developing innovative and effective approaches to the delivery of chemistry courses. Other duties may include appropriate departmental and university service.
Requirements: A Ph.D. in Chemistry by date of hire and demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level are required. Applicants who have experience with the effective use of active learning strategies are preferred and encouraged to apply.
