The Career Library features extensive resources on Career Planning, Choosing a Major Co-Op and Internship Jobs, Employer Directories and Employer Information Files, Geographical Directories, and Job Search resources (resume writing, cover letter writing, interviewing techniques, networking, etc.), as well as numerous job postings.

FOCUS, a web-based computer guidance system that will help you assess your interests, values and skills and explore for careers and education programs compatible with your personal attributes. Also provides detailed information on hundreds of job titles.

The Maine Mentor Program, which facilitates links between current students or registered alumni and alumni employed in various fields, has a searchable database on the web.

Career Counseling The professional staff of the Career Center is ready to assist you with any issues related to your career planning. For example, if you need help in identifying your interests and skills, defining your career goals, or understanding the relationship between academic majors and careers, you are invited to schedule a career counseling appointment with one of our counselors by calling 581-1359. Inventories The Career Center offers students the opportunity to take the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and the Self-Directed Search (SDS) to help assess preferences and personal type and their relationship to careers. A career counselor is available by appointment to help you interpret your results. To make arrangements to take the MBTI and/or SDS, schedule a 1/2 hour intake appointment by calling 581-1359.
