Kids’ Day Camps - RAD Camps
Parents, do you want to give your child a healthy, exciting, and engaging way to spend their day off from school?
Campus Recreation is now offering RAD Camps on planned days off (such as teachers’ In Service days) and on snow days! Non-members encouraged!
Qualified UMaine student staff will lead your child in activities and programs to fill their day with fun. Your child will participate in numerous activities including swimming, rock climbing, floor hockey, indoor soccer, children’s games, and much more.
RAD Camp runs from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Children must be picked up within 30 minutes of the program’s end time. Each day, please provide a lunch and a snack for your child.
Spring 2012 Dates
- February 18-22, 2013 (February Break)
- April 15-19, 2013 (April Break)
Snow Day Camp
We will offer full days of RAD Camp whenever area schools are closed for full days due to snow. We will not offer RAD on days UMaine is also closed, unless camp has started before the UMaine closure is announced. If that should happen, we will notify parents and keep children here until parents can arrive to pick them up, or 5 p.m., whichever comes first.
You must register your child in advance for planned-day-off RAD Camps (listed above). Phone registrations are accepted, with payment via credit card. Drop-ins are accepted only for Snow Day RAD Camps.
UMaine Closure Policy
Please note that when the University cancels classes (for snow or other reasons), we keep our regular facility hours, but RAD Camp is canceled, unless camp has started before the UMaine closure is announced. If that should happen, we will notify parents and keep children here until parents can arrive to pick them up, or 5 p.m., whichever comes first.
