MBA Concentrations - International Business

Designed to equip graduates for careers in international programming, international affairs, government entities, NPOs, for-profit enterprises, MNEs, admissions and recruitment at the secondary education level, or work within higher education venues.

The MBA, International Business Concentration, is 39 credit hours

Required MBA Core Classes (21 credit hours):

BUA 601 – Statistical Analysis and Modeling for Organizational Operations
BUA 605 – Creating & Capturing Value in the Digital Economy
BUA 609  – Financial Statement Analysis
BUA 620 – Law, Business and Society
BUA 626 – Management of Contemporary Organizations
BUA 651 – Financial Management
BUA 649 – Management Policy

Required experiential courses (6 credit hours):

BUA 596 – International Field Study

BUA 695 – MBA Internship or BUA 641 Group Consulting Project

Required Courses (3 Credit Hours):

  • BUA 639 Contemporary Issues in International Business or
  • SPI 502 Contemporary Issues in World Economy or
  • SPI 503 Contemporary International Relations

Plus…(6 Credit Hours):

  • A Semester Abroad at a UMaine Graduate Program Partner University:
    • University of Aalen, Germany or University of Angers, France
      • (Will transfer in up to 6 credit hours equivalent)
  • Students must also take a foreign language course while abroad
