Naturalist Program Path - Rock Hounds (ages 11-14)

Rock Hounds is for the budding geologist, interested in an exciting look into Maine’s mineralogy and natural history! Campers will spend their week searching for rare specimens of Maine gemstones, crystals, and minerals in our sluiceway and also at a local mine! Campers will learn map and compass and GPS skills as they seek and create geocaches, and navigate along the trail to the summit of Mt. Christopher, home of several unique “Glacial Erratics.” The week also includes traditional camp activities like swimming, fire building, paddling, ecology, and of course making new friends!
