Travel and Housing

The University of Maine is located in the heart of central Maine.   We are situated just off of I-95 at exit 193.

Flying

The closest airport is Bangor International Airport (BGR) located approximately 10 miles from campus. Portland International Jetport (PWM) located 130 miles south of the University of Maine.  Boston’s Logan International Airport (BOS) is 240 miles from campus.

The closest local hotels to the University of Maine are the Black Bear Inn and the University Inn.  Mention the Black Bear Marathon for a discount rate.

Parking

Parking for the Expo and the race will be in the Long Rd parking lot.  The parking instructions will be sent to all registered participants prior to race day.

The University of Maine is located in the heart of Maine on a beautiful campus.

Orono is located less than an hour from Baxter State Park which features Katahdin, the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail and the tallest mountain in Maine.

The campus is also less than an hour from the beauty of Acadia National Park located in coastal Bar Harbor, Maine where you can hike, whale watch, fish and kayak.
