The University of Maine Alumni Association presents:

JUNE 4, 2017

The 3rd Annual Black Bear Marathon,  Half Marathon and 10K will take place on June 4, 2017 at 7:30 AM on the University of Maine Campus located in Orono, ME.  This event features a start in the UMaine Football stadium track and a run through the beautiful campus, along the river and through Orono and Old Town.  You will pass the Old Town Canoe Company (where they make the famous canoes) and return to campus via a paved bike path through the woods.  The course will feature cheer stations, music, and lots of water and sports drink.

Registration:  Click Here

The race starts at 7:30 AM and there is a 6- hour limit on the marathon course. Those who feel they will not finish the marathon in 6 hours can register for the early start at 6:30 AM (which will allow 7 hours). Early start is not available for the half marathon.

The full marathon is a double loop of that half marathon course and all three races begin together at 7:30 AM.  We will have a special warm-up and shout out for UMaine Alumni.

The marathon and half marathon courses are officially certified!  The USATF numbers are:  ME15011JK and ME15012JK.

In 2016, this race was featured on Trip Advisor as one of the 50 U.S. Road Races to attempt in your lifetime:

Refunds and deferrals are not available for this race. No exceptions.
