The University of Maine Department of Molecular and Biomedical Sciences seeks applicants for a full-time, academic-year on-going Lecturer position to begin September 1, 2012.
Duties include teaching Fundamentals of Chemistry and the associated laboratory sections (BMB 207/209) each fall semester and Elementary Physiological Chemistry and the associated laboratory sections (BMB 208/210) each spring. Duties will also include an additional course (to be determined) in the spring and fall semester. Examples are Organic Chemistry and laboratory (BMB 221/22) in the fall and Biochemistry Laboratory (BMB 323) in the spring.
The successful applicant is required to have a professional degree (Masters level) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related field by date of hire. Previous university teaching experience in chemistry and physiological chemistry including laboratory sections is required. Expertise in chemistry, organic chemistry and biochemistry laboratory skills and safety as well as ability to create Powerpoint presentations is required.
