Housing & Dining

Living is Easy, Fun & Flavorful On Campus!
The on-campus community will be an enriching part of your UMaine experience! You will be a part of the First Year Experience (FYE) with programming designed just for new students. Plus, you’ll have access to abundant dining options, events and resources.

Have you completed the online Housing application?
If not, please do so right away! See details at the Housing website. Please note that room assignment, roommate and meal plan information will be available at the Housing website after June 1, 2014 for confirmed students.

What to Bring, What to Leave
We encourage students to make their residence hall room a “home away from home.” You and your roommate may bring many items to make your room more enjoyable; however, there are also things that must remain at home. Click here to learn what is and isn’t acceptable for your residence hall room, then talk to your roommate ahead of move-in to determine what each of you will be bringing.

Meal Plans
UMaine Dining offers several Meal Plan options for convenient dining in our facilities. Below is a quick overview, but please learn more by visiting our Meal Plan web page.

Hilltop | Wells Central | York
Resident students enjoy unlimited access to all-you-care-to-eat dining at Hilltop, Wells Central and York. These locations feature extended hours, special programming and other amenities designed to enhance the on-campus living experience.

SOME “FLEX” PLANS INCLUDE DINING FUNDS. Dining Funds operate like a declining balance (debit) account and are for convenience spending in a la carte locations like The Marketplace in Memorial Union and convenience markets around campus. Remember, though, that your greatest value remains with unlimited dining in Hilltop, Wells Central and York.

Special Dietary Concerns
If you have a special dietary need, food allergy or food intolerance, please contact UMaine Dining. We understand, and we are here to assist you in determining what items on our extensive menu will be suitable for your particular situation.
