Susan Camp works as a sculptor and printmaker with a focus on minimizing the environmental impact of her practice. Her work reflects concern and fascination with the manipulation of species in a landscape dominated by corporate farming.
She exhibits nationally and regularly collaborates with members of her own species and representatives of others; including molds, drosophila larvae and gourds. She has recently expanded her collaborative practice to a community garden, and is the recipient of a Maine Arts Commission/Harry Faust art Fund public sculpture grant to help with this endeavor.
She earned an MFA in visual art from Vermont College, and has been teaching printmaking, sculpture and foundations courses at the University of Maine since 2001.
