MAJ Sean M. Harmon

MAJ Sean Harmon was born in Portland, Maine. He is a 1994 graduate of The University of Montana with a Bachelor of Arts in History and a 2001 graduate of the University of Maine with a Master of Arts Degree in Canadian History.

MAJ Harmon enlisted in the Montana Army National Guard as an M1 Crewman in 1992.  Upon graduation from the University of Montana he was commissioned as a Field Artillery Officer and was assigned to the 10th Mountain Division as a Fire Direction Officer for Echo Battery, 7th Field Artillery, a Fire Support Officer for A/2-87 Infantry and an Executive Officer for A/2-15 Field Artillery.  MAJ Harmon joined the Maine Army National Guard upon leaving the Active Army and has been assigned as the Engineer Platoon Leader HHC/3-172 Infantry (Mountain) and Executive Officer of B/3-172 Infantry (Mountain), Bravo Battery Commander and Assistant S3 in the 1-152d Field Artillery, S3 in the 286th Petroleum Supply Battalion, and the Assistant S3  52d Troop Command.   MAJ Harmon recently returned from a tour in support of Operation Enduring Freedom on an Embedded Training Team working with the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan National Army.

MAJ Harmon’s awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (1 OLC), the Army Commendation Medal (1 OLC), the Army Achievement Medal (1 OLC), the Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal (2 OLC), the National Defense Ribbon (1 BBS), the Operation Enduring Freedom Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal, the Reserve Components Overseas Training Ribbon (8 awards) and the ISAF NATO Medal and the Joint Meritorious Unit Award. He is an inducted member of the Field Artillery Order of St. Barbara.
