Physical Wellness

Students at the University of Maine can take advantage of the numerous programs offered by Campus Recreation that enable them to be active and stay fit. Whether you are interested in intramural sports, weight and aerobic machines or fitness programs, there is something here for everyone.

For students interested in outdoor adventures, Maine Bound offers students the chance to rent gear, use the indoor climbing wall, and participate in a variety of fun and exciting excursions.

Spiritual Wellness

Students looking for religions communities, services, and activities in the University of Maine area can find all the information they need through Religious Affairs.

Social Wellness

Looking for social, cultural, intellectual, and recreational interactions with other students all over campus? Campus Activities and Student Engagement provides students with events each day of the week to keep people entertained and having fun in a safe (and free!) environment.

With approximately 200 clubs and organizations on campus, Student Organizations and Leadership Development offers students with the opportunity to get involved outside the classroom. With everything from multicultural organizations to academic and athletic clubs, it is very hard to be bored at UMaine.

Students interested in Going Greek! can check out the seventeen Fraternities and seven Sororities UMaine has on campus. Greek Life is an excellent way to create life-long bonds and get involved in the community.

Academic Wellness

As part of the University’s College Success Programs,the Tutor Program offers free small-group tutoring for individuals needing academic assistance in 100 and 200 level classes. This program plays a vital role in enhancing student learning.

The Writing Center on campus is a service provided to both students and faculty who are looking for feedback on written work through one-on-one interaction and tutoring.

For anyone needing extra help in mathematics, the Math Lab is an excellent tool in which students can drop by without an appointment and have their questions answered by trained individuals.

Emotional Wellness

The University of Maine Counseling Center provides a variety of programs and services that promote the personal development and psychological well-being for University of Maine students.

UMaine’s Cooperative Extension is another great way for students to find out information about our local Farmer’s Market, nutrition education, and other findings provided by campus research.
