4-H Club News
Earth School 4-H Club will be working hard to fill a bus full of toys and non-perishable food on December 10, 2011. The bus will be parked at the Northgate Shaw’s in Portland from 10:00-3:00. The youth of our 68 families strong 4-H club have chosen to donate the toys and food collected to the Family Crisis Center and the Preble Center of Portland. We will also be collecting for the family of a 7-year-old girl who lives with CHAOS, an extremely rare syndrome. She is at the Ronald McDonald House for six months enduring treatment and procedures, a hard place to be through the holidays. Some of the food will also be donated to local food pantries in surrounding communities.
We understand that this is a busy time and there are many fundraising efforts happening within the community. We have chosen to join this effort to raise as much awareness and help as possible, bringing joy to both the families who will receive and to our youth who are working hard to give. Several businesses located in the Northgate Mall are supporting our efforts by offering discounts on services as well as free coffee!
Hope to see you there!
