The Student Connection
In addition to technical services, the Advanced Manufacturing Center is a place where engineering students work to build practical experience while attending the University of Maine’s programs. The students employed at the AMC represent some of the most talented engineering students to come through the university. Students obtain hands on experience with all of the AMC’s equipment and are integrated at many levels within our organization. Along with strong academics, AMC student employees are often heavily involved in engineering related extra-curricular activities. Students, under advisement of professional staff, are involved with most AMC projects.
The Advanced Manufacturing Center promotes a sense of project ownership to student employees and the self motivation necessary to succeed in today’s professional engineering environment.
