Transition and the Founding of Alpha Delta

Washington D.C. aka “The All Male Congress”: This was the first “Convention” of the all male chapter of Alpha Phi Omega.  This meeting was the deciding factor to leave Alpha Phi Omega and form a new all-male Fraternity.  Sigma Xi sent Sean O’Mara, Brian Chick, and Dave Haluska to this meeting.

Boston/Revere Massachusetts aka “The First Meeting of the New Fraternity”: This Convention was the start of Alpha Delta.  The meeting was attended by the three founding chapters of Alpha Delta.  They are Sigma Xi, Pi Chi (Duquesne University), and Zeta Theta (Drexel University).  In this meeting we voted to name the Fraternity Alpha Delta.  The agenda consisted of Symbols, and Principles of the Fraternity

Drexel Campus West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: In West Philadelphia the three founding chapters worked on the Ritual and other things pertaining to the National Fraternity.  It was also here that the first Brothers of Alpha Delta were initiated.  Anthony Feldpausch of Sigma Xi was the first Brother of Alpha Delta to be sworn in.  The first National Executives were also decided on.  Sean O’Mara of Sigma Xi was Alpha Delta’s first National Treasurer.

Winter Meeting 2010

The Last Convention of Alpha Delta was in January of 2010 at the Drexel Campus in Philidelphia.  At this meeting it was decided that the colors would be changed from black, gold and green to forest green, old gold and onyx.
