2013 Farm Tractor Safety Course

The Waldo County Office of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension and Ingrahams Equipment in Knox will be sponsoring a 5 week class for youth and adults to learn and practice safe tractor and farm equipment operation.
Class sessions will continue each succeeding Tuesday on April 16, 23, and 30 followed by a written exam and tractor driving course on May 7th. The participants will learn how to handle tractors and equipment safely, how to identify hazards, and how to minimize the chances of accidents.
The course is open to all adults and youth interested, but priority will be given to youth 14 to 16 years of age. This course is required for 14 and 15 year olds who plan to operate farm equipment for hire on farms other than their own.
There is a registration fee of $20 (covers books, and participant materials). PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Registration and information is available by calling the University of Maine Cooperative Extension office in Waldo County at 207.342.5971 or 1.800.287.1426.
