Resources - Invited Presentations

Dr. Jane Tucker, March 26, 2014: Negotiation Skills for Junior and Senior FacultyDr. Jane Tucker, former Duke University faculty and now a leadership development consultant, will join us to enhance faculty negotiation skills.

Sometimes, no matter how hard one tries, an agreement cannot be achieved.  In this workshop participants will be asked to consider a BATNA or the “best alternative to a negotiated agreement” before they begin negotiations. Dr. Tucker will help participants evaluate their personal conflict resolution styles.  Presentation of case studies will reinforce the use of effective styles in negotiating and problem-solving by defining patterns of negotiations when choice and stress are factors.  Development of supporting data, options, and packaging solutions are also examined relative to these cases.
