Grants may fund visiting scholars, travel for covered faculty to conduct collaborative research, travel to UMaine from other UMS campuses, writing groups, release time for professional development, equipment and summer salary to develop initial data to support future research, consultant fees for departmental climate activities, institutional transformation studies, administrative internships, and other  efforts supporting ADVANCE goals.

Karen J. Horton
Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering Technology
Peer Trainer
The Peer Trainer will work proactively with departments that require additional assistance in establishing positive environments for women faculty. Current initiatives include development of a student professionalism in the classroom program piloted in the School of Forest Resources and the College of Engineering.
