Testimonials and Photo Galleries

Through their testimonials, parents share their perspectives on witnessing firsthand the growth, enthusiasm, and newfound skills their children have acquired throughout the series. Their words reveal a consensus among parents about the program’s ability to instill confidence, foster creativity, and inspire a passion for learning in their children.

Simultaneously, young participants contribute their own voices, expressing excitement for the engaging workshops, hands-on activities, and the sense of camaraderie they’ve experienced.

Together, these testimonials paint a vivid picture of the profound value the 4-H Summer Learning Series brings to both the children who eagerly participate and the parents who witness their remarkable development.

I LOVE the virtual format and that so many kids from around Maine, no matter what was going on (two were sick but could join! We joined from the car once!), the kids could participate, learn from engaging people, explore their passions about the world that is quite literally around them. Please keep up the virtual classes all year long!

I would say ‘You have nothing to worry about, almost no one knows anyone, so we’re all in the same boat. And if you’re not a talkative person, just really focus on the project at hand, but if you’re a pretty talkative person (you can be both!), you can socialize and chat with everyone as you do the project.’

It really has something for everyone! Really like horses and fundraising? Check. Nature and well-being club? Check. Arts and crafts and being generally involved in 4-H stuff? Check! And if you don’t want to be in a club, you can be an independent 4-Her! There’s public speaking (one of my favorites), the Blue Hill Fair, Maine 4-H Days, and Cloverfest! And even if you’re an independent 4-Her, you can still do all of it!

Parents Appreciate SLS:

What would be different about your child(ren) if they had NOT participated in the 4-H Summer Learning Series?

We can’t afford/manage weeks away at summer camp, and we live some distance from friends, so it’s difficult to provide transportation to be doing things regularly while we are working. She would not have had the opportunity to learn about any of the topics offered or practice leadership skills.
