4H@UMaine 2012

“I just wanted to tell you that out of the five summer camps I have gone to your was the most fun and educational. I am really looking forward to next year. Oh and next year if you need any more junior volunteers I would be happy to help.”

“It was one of the best weekends of my life! It was so much fun, and so interesting. I made new friends. I can’t even describe what it was like to walk into the engineering classroom and see all the stuff they made. Some of it was huge! It is so cool. I want to learn more about what they do there, and maybe I can do it someday.”

– 13-year-old boy

“On my scale of 1 to 10 I would have to give it a 9.5. Oh yeah, it was fun! I’m going to talk to my mom about joining 4-H. I didn’t know you could do so many different things. It’s so cool.”

 – 12-year-old boy

“…to see the growth of some of the individual kids from Friday to Sunday, to see them making new friends, trying new activities, experiencing being away from home, thinking about college, getting excited about science…all truly incredible to see and hear about.”

– Mom of 13-year-old girl

“I loved the 4-H weekend. My fav was the test tube plants. It’s really cool that they let you guys borrow their facility.”
